Metropolitan
Ministries has gone from a single room food pantry, to one of America’s
most effective and innovated caregivers. They serve approximately
100-150 families daily through Outreach Services and offer a variety of
supportive programs. 80 children and 40 adults call Metropolitan
Ministries their home every night. GET REAL Involved! will serve in the kitchen, clothing and food warehouses and within the outreach area serving guests.
We will serve at Metropolitan Ministries until noon, break for lunch and then those who are interested may join our host church, Hyde Park United Methodist for an afternoon of fun.
Bring a Bag Lunch, wear your "GET REAL Involved!" t-shirt, bring sunscreen, bug spray, work clothes, gloves & hats and closed toed shoes. And of course a smile and a positive attitude. (No iPods!)
Once
again, all GET REAL Involved! participants have been invited by our
host church, Hyde Park United Methodist, to participate in an afternoon
of "FUN" (details to be announced). If you'd like to participate, please select the
appropriate ticket type upon registration.
You need only buy ONE "ticket" to register for this event. There are two ticket types
depending on your participation in the afternoon activities. If you plan on staying all day
please purchase the "Return at 5PM" Ticket. If you are NOT
participating in the afternoon recreation, purchase the "Return at 12:30 PM" Ticket. ONE ticket only is required. There are 7 spots
available for the return at 12:30PM part of the trip and 29 for the
return at 5:00 PM.

GET REAL Involved!
GET REAL Involved! engages youth in community service within Tampa Bay.
This group was formed based on the idea that getting students involved in community service early and often will change the world.
We know students want to make a difference, and that they prefer to spend time with their peers & friends. GET REAL Involved! service projects allow them to do just that. We organize turnkey service projects within the Tampa Bay community that are screened to conform to Hillsborough County School requirements for service hours.
All trips are fully chaperoned with background checked adults. All service sites have been screened. We've done all the work, all you have to do is fill out some forms (click here) and show up!This group is sponsored by the Youth Ministry of Hyde Park United Methodistwhich has been organizing monthly youth service projects under the GET REAL banner since 2006.
